On Sunday February 7th, Bridgestone will unveil two new commercials during Super Bowl XLIV. Bridgestone is also the sponsor of the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show featuring the legendary rock band, The Who. In preparation for the event, Bridgestone has released teasers and behind-the-scenes footage for their two commercials - "Whale of a Tale" and "Your Tires or Your Life". Above is the Super Bowl XLIV 2010 Whale Of A Tale Bridgestone teaser ad, and below is Your Tires or Your Life teaser. We will have to wait till SuperBowl Sunday to see what happens in these two commercials.

For all you behind the scenes fanatics, you might enjoy this clip from the action behind the Whale of a Tale spot.

Best and The Worst Super Bowl Commercials

The hype is over and now we enjoy all the talk of which Super Bowl commercials are the best this year.
At the top of my list is the Budweiser Clydesdale Circus commercial, as expected the Clyesdale horses are the stars of this years Best Super Bowl Ads.

At number 2 well it was a tie, the two spots created by amateur advertising gurus for the the Doritos Crash The SuperBowl Contest.Crash the super bowl power of the crunchthe office crash the super bowl doritos commercial

The Power of the Crunch and The Office commercials created for the Doritos contest were actually much better than most of the ads this year. View the spots here Contest Winners.

Next on my list is the funny Bridgestone Super Bowl commercial titled "Taters" starring Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.

Rounding out my favorites was the 30 second spot for Cheetos, the spoiled girl attacked by pigeons was just too funny.

As for the worst commercials of the Super Bowl there is just one that takes the Top Spot for worst ad this year. I'm sure most of you will agree the Cash4Gold Super Bowl commercial with MC Hammer and Ed McMahon seemed more like one of those tacky late night infomercials. In case you missed it here it is again.
Other commercials worth mentioning in the worst ads of the game are the GoDaddy commercials. They really are just getting boring and old.

Conan O'Brien Bud Light Super Bowl Ad

The Conan O'Brien Bud Light Budweiser Super Bowl commercial will surely top the Best Ads of The SuperBowl lists this year.

This is the 2D version of the much anticipated Monsters vs Aliens 3D Super Bowl ad that is going to air during the third quarter of the game, hope you got your 3D glasses for this one.
Not only does the spot star the NFL stars, the Sobe LifeWater spot introduces from movie Lee The Lizard, The Missing Link, Dr. Cockroach, and Bob who star in the movie Monsters vs Aliens. The official version will air Sunday February 1st, 2009 in 3D; the first ever 3D commercial.

Just as good as the commercial is the making of SoBe's super bowl commercial "Lizard Lake".

Pepsi Max "I'm Good" SuperBowl Commercial

The new Pepsi Max "I'm Good" commercial was just released in what seems to have become the norm for the SuperBowl ads, being made available well before the Super Bowl is even played. As funny as the Pepsi "I'm Good" ad is I can't agree that it is very original, while you are watching the spot keep the Budweiser "Dude" commercial in mind.

Troy Polamalu Super Bowl Mean Joe Greene Coke Zero Commercial

Troy Polamalu stars in the remake of the classic Mean Joe Greene Coke commercial for the Super Bowl. Mean Troy for Coke Zero.

Created by the ad agency Crispin Porter & Bogusky.
Steelers' Troy Polamalu shares his thoughts on his acting, football and making the Coke Zero commercial. How ironic, a behind the scenes look at the making of the new Coke Zero spot which will air during the same game Troy will take the field for!

Denny's Super Bowl Commercial Preview "Thugs"

Denny's gets into the Super Bowl Ads game for the first time with a 30 second spot that will air during the third quarter. The spot is narrated by Burt Reynolds and as the title suggests; "Thugs" the Denny's commercial is going to have a Soprano's feel to it.

clip via: AdGabber
The commercial was directed by the Perlorian Brothers (good ole Canadian boys) for the advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partner. This is actually the one commercial I'm really looking forward to seeing on Super Bowl Sunday.

More of the Same Old Go Daddy Super Bowl Ads

Go Daddy "Baseball" and Go Daddy "Shower" commercials created for the 2009 Super Bowl with Danica Patrick. Seriously is it just me or are the GoDaddy Super Bowl spots getting old and well sorry Go Daddy they are boring, how about some originality for a change.
For those who like the commercials here they are. Enjoy.

Coke Open Happiness Commercial Heist and Avatar

The new Coca-Cola Open Happiness commercials are as always simply fantastic. Created by Wieden + Kennedy, the Coke spot below which will air during the Super Bowl gives me shivers, it is just one of those feel good spots.

The music for the Open Happiness "Avatar" spot is wonderful, if any of you know who it's by please share.

Just got the info on the music for the Open Happiness spot: the soundtrack for the spot features a cover of Elvis Presley's 1970 hit "Stranger in the Crowd," by Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo.
The second spot, "Heist," features music from "Peter and the Wolf," conducted by Robert Miller and performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In the 60-second spot, a man dozes off in a park only to have insects scheme to make off with his Coke.

Great Super Bowl Ads 2009 Doritos Commercial Finalists

To date only the Doritos Crash The Super Bowl contest is giving us an early look at this years Super Bowl ads. Of the 5 finalists for the 2009 contest these two spots are my favorites to win.
This great entry is sure to be a number one favorite of the days Super Bowl ads.

"The Power Of The Crunch"

"Free Doritos At The Office Today?"

Rejected Super Bowl XLIII Ads Ashley Madison

The Super Bowl XLIII ads and commercial frenzy has begun, one of many Super Bowl ads to be rejected is this for Ashley Madison.com.
Noel Biderman, CEO of AshleyMadison.com, told CNBC that his ad was eventually rejected and was specifically told that the company wouldn't be allowed to advertise in any NFL game program until the end of time.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said that no one in the league office actually ever saw the ad. "After realizing what the site was, the sales rep called back and told the company there was a mistake and that his company could not sell an ad to the site."

Biderman thinks his inability to advertise is hypocritical.

"I find the rejection to be ridiculous given that a huge percentage of the NFL's marketing content is for products like alcohol, which they sell in their stadiums, promote on their air and clearly have in the magazine," Biderman said. "That's a product that literally kills tens of thousands of people each year. So if the NFL is worried about legislating behavior and regulating what their audience should be exposed to then it should start with a ban on all alcohol advertising and products being sold, not AshleyMadison.com."

AshleyMadison.com, a Canadian company, has been in existence for seven years, but has only been advertising in the U.S. for about a year and half.

"We don't intend to let this pass," Biderman said. "This is our core audience and we will find a way to let them know about the existence of this service."

Monsters Vs. Aliens Super Bowl XLIII 3D Promo AD

Well Superbowl 43 is just around the corner and the wildly popular SuperBowl Ads should start coming out here and there before game day, but here is something truly amazing; a preview commercial for a preview. I know it didn't make sense to me either but this is what the SuperBowl ads and the frenzy around them have come too.
DreamWorks, "Monsters vs. Aliens," PepsiCo, SoBe Lifewater, Intel and NBC Create the 3D Super Bowl commercial preview event. Considering the economic times, let's hope creativity takes over the big budget Super Bowl Ads this year.

DreamWorks Animation and Pepsi SoBe Lifewater announced they have joined together with Intel Corporation and NBC to create a nationwide 'Monstrous' 3D event for Super Bowl XLIII. This first-ever all 3D Super Bowl commercial break event will mark the debut of DreamWorks Animation's premier 3D movie trailer for its upcoming feature film, "Monsters vs. Aliens," which comes to theaters in the U.S. on March 27th.

Doritos "Mouse Trap", one of the finalists from last year and my favorite.

LaDainian Tomlinson and Troy Polamalu for Nike Leave Nothing Commercial "Fate"

Leave Nothing-Fate-Nike Commercial
LaDainian Tomlinson and Troy Polamalu star in the new Nike football commercial "Fate", Leave Nothing. Wieden & Kennedy create another great Nike commercial and released at the perfect time as the NFL season starts to heat up after week 6.

Nike uses two of the most popular stars in the NFL in Tomlinson and Polamalu for this commercial where we see them as newborns and grow into football stars and "Fate" would lead them to finally meet in an NFL game.

Update number two: The music featured in the Nike commercial with Polamalu and Tomlinson Leave Nothing commercial is originally from the movie "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, created by Ennio Morricone - The Ecstasy of Gold, the beat was redone by Jay Z for this commercial.

The music for the Nike Fate commercial is a specific beat form the song called "Blueprint 2" by Jay-Z, but I have also been told the song is from the good the bad and the ugly, the cemetery scene at the end.
I should add that in Italian, it's called "L'estasi Dell'oro".

This commercial is becoming so popular, and football fans are just loving it, lets hope Nike saves this one and creates a new version for this years SuperBowl.

Super Bowl 2008 Commercial Budweiser Horse Training Dalmation

It takes a menagerie to create a Super Bowl ad slate. Dancing lizards, shrieking squirrels, enormous pigeons and those familiar Clydesdales dominated the commercials in a year when the ads couldn't compete with the last-minute excitement of the game itself. This was my pick for the feel good ad of the Super Bowl Ad's this year.

Sweet-natured spots got some of the highest marks from both ad professionals and regular viewers. Budweiser's latest entry into the Clydesdale canon hit the top of USA Today's Ad Meter poll of consumers and who could resist the story of a rejected horse that trains for and makes the team with the help of a Dalmatian trainer and the Rocky theme?

Pepsi Stuff Super Bowl Ad featuring Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg

I still prefer Coke over Pepsi but the Pepsi ads are fantastic. Andy Samberg should be the start of this commercial not Justin Timberlake.

Bob's House -- Pepsi's new 2008 Super Bowl Ad

Here is a sneak peek at one of Pepsi's new for the 2008 Super Bowl Ad. This is by far one of the greatest commercials I have ever seen. Well done Pepsi!

Do yourself a favour and watch this....priceless.

Go Daddy Super Bowl XLll Ads Rejected By Fox

For those of you who don't think sex sells just take a look at how hard they are working over at Go Daddy to create an edgy, innovative, slightly inappropriate Super Bowl ad.

Fox Netwroks rejection to Bob Parson's...
Just don't say "beaver." FOX network rejected Go Daddy's Super Bowl ad because an actor referred to a beaver – a replica beaver that was, in fact, being portrayed – as a “beaver.” Go Daddy was told under no circumstance could they use that word, and if they didn’t say the word “beaver,” the ad would be approved.

The rejection timeline:

11-05-07- Origianl Bathroom Concept Rejected

11-06-07- Original Dress Concept Rejected, The network said no dice when they had the origianl Go Daddy Girl, Candice Michelle, do her best Marlilyn Monroe impression.

11-09-07- Origianal Exposure Concept Rejected

11-16-07- Revised Exposure Concept Rejected

11-27-07- Revised Exposure Concept Rejected yet again

11-28-07- Original Senator Concept Rejected

12-05-07- Original Spot On Concept Rejected, This concept was eventually approved, but not without some changes from the network.

01-07-08- Revised Spot On Rejected again, the second attempt at this ad was closer, but the network still thought it was too hot for TV.

01-24-08- Go Daddy announces they finally have an approved ad for the Super Bowl.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, I just hope it is worth all the hype.
