Pepsi said: "We didn't want our cans to feel left out this Halloween, so we dressed them up, too. Look for these limited edition Pepsi cans in the Halloween Section of your local Walmart."
The Internet said: "Instructions when packing on the shelves: DO NOT STACK CANS ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER". via: ReubenMiller "Drink B oo B. Ah, Pepsi. Why is it so fun to tease you? Probably because you make so much money, yet continue to do dumb stuff like this. Were the geniuses at Arnell responsible for this Halloween horror too?" via: The Denver Egotist
In the Great Ads inbox today comes a social media strategy that works. Pepsi Canada and Proximity Canada enjoy some well deserved success with the Pepsi Joy It Forward campaign. As part of the digital strategy developed for Pepsi in Canada, the website http://www.joyitforward.ca/ encourages people to participate and spread the positive culture and energy of the brand online.
On the site, visitors can explore “Joy Meters” which aggregate content to measure what people are doing online to spread the feeling of joy. Some of the Joy Meters include: Mentions of Joy on Twitter; Results for Joy on Google; Joyous Word of the Day; Bundles of Joy Born today; etc. Check them out here: http://www.joyitforward.ca/joymeter/
Visitors to the site can also play simple Joy-filled games (called Joygles). Some of the games include: Bubble Blaster ; Make an Old Man Smile; Staring Contest; Dance Party Dino; and the most recently added game 3 Card Pepsi. Play them here: http://www.joyitforward.ca/joygles/
To complement the website, a Facebook Fan Page http://www.facebook.com/PepsiCanada was created as a discussion forum on all things Pepsi and a place to play the Joygles. Pepsi also created a Twitter feed http://www.twitter.com/PepsiCanada that provides a steady stream of conversation around the feeling of joy. Online media placements and domination-style ads were also part of the online digital campaign.
Within a week of the launch, the online properties received thousands of visits. Most impressive was the response to the Facebook Fan Page which has grown from an initial 300 fans to over 91,000 fans in the first 3 weeks. In one day alone, the page received over 25,000 fans. Since their creation, the Joygles have accumulated over 35,000 game plays.
Equally impressive, is that in the usually quiet world of corporate fan page Walls, Pepsi fans have been tremendously engaged with the brand with over 9000 interactions to date on the Facebook fan page.
Special thanks to Shari at BBDO/Proximity Toronto for passing the info to us at Great-Ads.
A look back at the Michael Jackson Pepsi commercials from the 1980's. In the first ad MJ sings I'll Be There at the piano. The second commercial is the Michael Jackson Pepsi Generation Billy Jean TV ad that was incredibly popular in the late 80's.
The Pepsi Generation Billy Jean Commercial.
God Bless you Michael, thank you for leaving the world with all your wonderful music.
New Pepsi Cola "ThrowBack" commercial for the brands new throwback. Why is calling it it a throwback you ask? I couldn't answer the question either but I did find this comment over at Ads Of The World, "It is throwback, because the original pepsi used sugar, not this high fructose corn syrup crap that is in all US pop today. Since this "new" Pepsi is using sugar like back in the day, throwback is a perfect name. And, this is nothing like Coke. Coke is still only using High fructose corn syrup (for now). I think it's about time we get flavor-full drinks without high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners. As for myself, I just really like the commercial.

The new Pepsi Max "I'm Good" commercial was just released in what seems to have become the norm for the SuperBowl ads, being made available well before the Super Bowl is even played. As funny as the Pepsi "I'm Good" ad is I can't agree that it is very original, while you are watching the spot keep the Budweiser "Dude" commercial in mind.

Great new Pepsi commercial "Kung Fu Fighting", directed by Fredrik Bond for Almap BBDO Sao Paulo, Brazil. Nothing beats a good fight/dancing scheme with Kung Fu Fighting playing in the background of a crowed city street, and of course enjoying a Pepsi. I love this commercial it is funny, all the little things going are hilarious in this Pepsi Spot.
