New Limited Edition Heineken Star Bottles
Heineken introduces new limited edition star bottles, the first time they've redesigned it's packaging since 1946.
The new "Star Bottle" design (above) is for U.S. consumers and scheduled to be on shelves nation wide by March of next year. The James Bond Skyfall limited editions bottles are below.
"The newly designed Star Bottle allows Heineken to take a huge step forward in the globalization of the brand, which started with our 'Open Your World' marketing campaign and our more recent draught program," says Colin Westcott-Pitt, VP of Marketing, Heineken USA. "The Heineken bottle has gone through a number of progressions but has always maintained its core iconography that has become a symbol of upscale premium beer, and this philosophy will remain the same with the new Star Bottle design."
"The Star Bottle will be available in 12 oz. and 22 oz. sizes and features a taller, thinner shape giving it a more modern and premium look. The bottle also features an embossed thumb groove that improves grip and encourages people to hold the bottle at a lower point, keeping the beer colder. While the bottle is changing, consumers can still expect the same smooth, full-bodied beer with a complexity that balances fruity notes with mild bitterness that has been synonymous with Heineken for more than 100 years."
What do you think about the new bottles?

Heineken Occasionally Perfect Billboard off to Chicago
The Heineken "Occasionally Perfect" billboard campaign continued when the Billboard traveled to Chicago for a concert featuring Broken Social Scene. The billboard made it's way from Manhattan where a simple billboard was made occasionally perfect with a surprise performance by TV on the Radio. In Chicago the Heineken billboard was placed in the Wrigleyville neighborhood. The band, Broken Social Scene, played for 30 minutes, and buzz on social networks leading up to the event spread the word among Chicagoans.

New Heineken "Legendary Football" Movie and Ads
Heineken officially launches their newest ad campaign, entitled "Legendary Football," for the 2011/2012 UEFA season.
The commercials star five famous footballers; Gianluigi Buffon, Rene Adler, Patrick Vieira, Clarence Seedorf and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Heineken aims to highlight the ‘stage’ of magical moments that UEFA Champions League and football legends create.
Two 30-second TV ads will be cut from the film, in-between program breaks or "bumpers" will also air in over 180 countries worldwide.
The " Heineken Opera" advert takes place in a opera house, with Seerdorf lining up to take a shot at Buffon, who is on a balcony. The "Pantheon" ad features Vieira and Van Nistelrooy battling to win a header at Alder's goal. This takes place in a more historical setting of an ancient Roman gladiator ring.
Cyril Charzat, Global Brand Director at Heineken, said: “As a long-term partner of the UEFA Champions League, Heineken understands the magic of the tournament and the masterpiece moments which make it so special. Legendary Football captivates the excitement of the very best that club football has to offer and the enjoyment of these high standards is something that Heineken has in common with football enthusiasts”.

Have a 'Brief Encounter' with the New Heineken TV Commercial
Heineken and ad agency Rothco have come up with a very adult themed advert for their 'Open Your World' campaign. The seductive ad has it all - sexual tension, innuendo, cheating, flirting, and even a twist ending. Heineken along with competitors like Stella Artois continue to lead the way in breaking the mold of the stereotypical beer ad.

Heineken Spot says Thank You with 'One Million Hugs'
As part of Heineken's social networking campaign, they have released a thank you ad to all their "friends" for getting them past the 1 million "likes" mark on Facebook. Companies like Heineken have quickly realized the power of social networking and have now made it an important factor in any multi-pronged marketing campaign, that already includes TV, print, and ambient. The spot itself is enjoyable enough, as it is always fun to watch unassuming strangers get hugs from hot Dutch women.
Controversial Heineken Ad 'The Tiger' Original and Revised Versions
When Heineken recently released their new TV commercial 'The Tiger' and received regular air time, it quickly became evident that some people took offense to the apparent chauvinistic ad. The controversy is due to the line "prey", as to describe the female character played by the gorgeous Valeska Castillo. Heineken responded quickly to the issue and released an updated version with the line 'prey' replaced with the word 'prize'. Not sure if this will really resolve anything as I'm sure there will be somebody who will find the word 'prize' just as offensive. Controversy aside, the spot is very charming and I think most women would agree.
Here is the new tamer version.

Heineken Ad Makes A Big One With 'The Entrance'
Could this be the latest most interesting man in the world. Well maybe not but he does make a hell of entrance. Like Heineken's product brand Dos Equis Beer, the Dutch beer company appears to be banking on the success of that campaign with a younger leading man to help sell their imported brew. The highlight of the ad is the great song 'The Golden Age' by Danish pop group The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. So integral is the song, the band is even featured in the the TV spot, as they jam with the leading man doing his best Ron Burgundy (Will Farrell in Anchorman) impression.

Heineken "Green is the New Black" viveverde
The Brief: To create an environmental program and a tactical effort to launch. Make it attractive and relevant so the target felt compelled to get involved in the environmental movement.
The Execution: Create the Heineken Green Bag, a re-usable grocery bag made of non-recyclable discarded material from Heineken billboards. A local micro-enterprise of seamstresses crafted them. While we tackled the damaging plastic bag situation, we gave a better use to our trash and helped the micro-enterprise. The bags are being sold on Heinekencity.com, the brand's website and other boutiques.
The Result: The Heineken Green Bags became an instant environmental and fashion statement. The first batch of bags was sold out in a few days. Consumers become a walking billboard for Heineken when they shop with the bag. It's an on-going, self-sustainable project.

Tool and JWT Milan Get With It For Two New Heineken Commercials
Director Erich Joiner of Tool of North America and JWT collaborate on a hilarious new campaign for Heineken, set to air on Italian TV and online at www.areyoustillwithus.com.
What do you do when you invite a few guys over to watch the game and enjoy a few cool refreshing Heinekens, only to realize that one of your buddies brought his girlfriend along? And what if that buddy was wearing a "Go Team" sweater personally knitted by said girlfriend? In Football Match, one of two new spots for the world's most famous Dutch beer, Joiner examines this awkward phenomenon using his deft comic skills to deliver an instantly memorable campaign.
Moving finds the same rugged brood of guys moving into a rustic house together. This time one of the housemates shows up with a flashy new washing machine, prompting looks of disbelief from his friends. Soon the new washing machine settles into its rightful place; on the porch, full of ice where bottles of Heineken wait and chill.

New Heineken One Green Bottle Commercial
From Heineken the story of one green bottle is the newest commercial by the ad agency McCann Erickson. The spot features the journey of one green Heineken beer bottle from the time it was filled in the brewery to the journey it endures before that one green bottle finally arrives at the party. Nice spot, I really enjoyed the music great work.
