Awesome PSA Ads Will Stop Your Sexual Encounter At It's Peak





From The Aids Council of Finland and ad agency McCann Worldgroup, Helsinki come two new ads reminding us just how important using condoms are. The ad's entitled "Places for Women" and "Places for Men" begin as what surely looks to be a romantic experience with a young couple, until the pin map symbol that we've grown to love pops up with a friendly reminder of just how many people have been to the region before you.

Sex Without The Mess by One Pound Johnny Club (NSFW)

And the tasteless condom ad of the year award goes to...maybe tasteless is a bad choice of words, One Pound Johnny and the "Sex Without The Mess" advert. Warning, proceed with caution this ad will either totally disgust you or make you run to to your lover for a quickie.
One Pound Johnny Club (OPJC) was formed to solve a problem - Expensive and sometimes embarrassing trips to the store to pick up an absolute must for the bedroom. It shouldn't be an embarrassing experience, but it still is. The service, inspired by the experiences of the co-founders, offers a monthly subscription where the members of the club can have discrete packages of condoms (from as little as £1 a month) sent to their door.

The pre-flight safety demonstration for this flight turns into a "How To Use A Condom" demonstration by a couple of very attractive flight attendants for Durex Condoms.

The passengers look surprised at first, some look a bit excited and in the end they test out the condoms for themselves...now why can't all flights be this much fun?

Serenity Now Means "Kids Later" in New Tulipan Condom Print Ad Campaign

Condom print ads have always been a favorite genre of mine, as the subject matter lends itself well to the medium.  In this great new print ad campaign titled 'Kids Later', condom makers Tulipan have created a very effective series of ads.   The 3 shots titled 'Puppies Birthday', 'Sand Castle' and 'Sleeping' all narrate the campaigns message of planned parenthood perfectly.  Clearly the clever ads are geared toward a specific demographic I like to call  "lucky".

MTV's 'Sexident' PSA Campaign is a Sexy Accident Waiting to Happen

As part of a European MTV Public Service Announcement coined 'Sexidents' (and no they are not selling dentures or dental gum) but rather promoting safe sex.  German based ad agency Grey Worldwide have come up with a great 70's throw back comic book style print ads to coincide with the campaigns slogan " Sex is no accident. Wear a condom."   The campy illustrations  titled 'toilet', 'bush' and 'backseat' contain over-the-top sexual set ups that work  perfectly within the often over-done safe sex public service genre.

Durex New Sexy Print Ad Campaign 'Feathers' Leaves Little to the Imagination


The new Durex print ad campaign 'feathers' are thought provoking images surprisingly made for the ultra conservative nation of Singapore.



Groupon Pulling Their Controversial Super Bowl Ads

According to a blog posted by Groupon CEO Andrew Mason, the company is pulling all three of their controversial 2011 Super Bowl ads, 'Tibet', 'Whales' and 'Rainforest'.  The Christopher Guest directed spots spawned a lot of outrage by some viewers who felt the ads were in bad taste. In the end the advertising world, unlike other creative media forms,  often have to bow down to the easily offended public. The great thing about the internet though is that the satirical ads will live on, where people can make their own choice to view them or not.  So enjoy or be offended.

Mason had to make this statement on the Groupon blog:

"Five days have passed since the Super Bowl, and one thing is clear – our ads offended a lot of people. Tuesday I posted an explanation, but as many of you have pointed out, if an ad requires an explanation, that means it didn't work".

"We hate that we offended people, and we're very sorry that we did – it's the last thing we wanted. We've listened to your feedback, and since we don't see the point in continuing to anger people, we're pulling the ads".



Durex Baby App - A Great Idea is Born

Of all the apps available for your iPhone this one has to be one of the best, Durex Condoms takes advertising to a new level with the Durex Baby App. Durex simulates the experience of having a newborn by creating an application that will you to knock-up a friends phone, ready for this all you have to do is find a phone to mate and gently rub them together!

Condoms That Generate Desire by Durex

Durex Condoms commercial titled "Les Préservatifs Qui Donnent Envie" which translated from French to English is, Durex "Condoms That Generate Desire". Truly one of the best condom ads I have ever seen, the Durex spot features the music of AbbA, a remake of one their songs anyway. Now why can't all condom commercials be tastefully created like this one?

Another award winning advert from Clio 2008, Durex Performa Condoms won a bronze award for Innovative Media: Durex Performa Condoms - Last Longer - Redhead. I love this condom ad, very creative. Not sure if a condom is even needed after looking at this.

The Condom, A Collection of Great Condom Ads

We know what is implied and it is done perfectly.
A nice way of sticking it to the competition.
A fun advertising effort by Johnson & Johnson in Brazil. The cardboard is positioned under the door and sells Jontex, a brand of condoms. The headline reads, "you do not know when it can be necessary."

These Durex condom ads were strategically placed in toll gates so that people would have to push into images of strategically placed women's rear ends to enter the subway station.
