McDonald's 'We are all making the Games' Olympics TV Ad
McDonald's makes it all about it all about the people at the 2012 London Olympics with this new TV advert entitled "We All Make The Games."
Press:
McDonald’s UK’s £10 million responsive advertising campaign to celebrate London 2012 – ‘We All Make The Games’ - was designed to use a multitude of media channels to capture, replay and celebrate the people, moments, and emotions that are helping make the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games such a spectacular event.
The overarching campaign launched on 25 June 2012 with in-store activity and outdoor advertising. TV, press and digital outdoor ads and other digital activity have followed, including a Facebook app which allows members of the British public and visitors to the Games to upload photos of themselves, friends and relatives getting into the spirit of the Games.
As Team GB make their way up the medal table and more people are getting swept along in the excitement of the Games, hundreds of moments of nationwide celebration are being captured through the user-generated element of the campaign.
McDonald’s has had over 20,000 active users of the Facebook App, in the period 13th to 30th July and 60 user-generated images have already been featured as part of the campaign – up on Piccadilly Lights in central London; printed in the Sun newspaper as half page ads; featured on the McDonald’s UK Facebook page and McDonald’s.co.uk and across digital outdoor screens across the UK.
A re-edited 60 second filmed documentary ad breaks on Saturday 4th August. Now titled ‘We’re all making the Games’, real fans have been filmed during the first week of the Games, capturing the highs, the lows, the passion and the those little intimate moments.
A selection of the user-generated images and additional filmed documentary material that is currently being captured at various fan parks across the UK will also be developed into a TV commercial developed especially for the Closing Ceremony.

How To Make A Real McDonald's Big Mac Right At Home
Christine H. from Oshawa asked, "What is in the sauce that is in the Big Mac?" So McDonald's answered with another from their video series "Our Food Your Questions"
McDonald's Canada executive chef, Dan Coudreaut shows us exactly what the Big Mac sauce recipe includes and how to make a Big Mac right at home. In case your wondering the big secret about the Big Mac sauce is the following: mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white wine vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika.
I only have one question....McDonald's has an executive chef??? They're kidding right?

McDonald's Reflective Billboard Advertising
The idea: McDonald’s wanted to target people looking for a late night snack. So we made an ad that could only be seen at night. On a billboard, we wrote “open all night” in reflective tape. By day, the board appeared white, with no message visible at all. At night, car headlights hit the billboard, and revealed the message.

McDonald’s "The Package"
I just love this new commercial for McDonald's entitled "Package", created by DDB Germany. This little guy smartens up after having all his McDonald's lunch eaten up by bullies in the park by disguising his cherished McD's with a Burger King bag...cute.

McDonald's Goes Green with their St. Patrick's Day Stunt 'Shamrock Shake Spill'
Continuing the world-wide St. Patrick's Day tradition of turning everything green, the McDonald's Operators of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana have created the 'Shamrock Shake Spill'. Maybe not as endearing to some due to the recent tragic oil spills of late, the gag is not lost on those of us who want to keep St. Patrick's Day one of the funnest days of the year. Hey at least the spill is green.

McDonald's Gets Down to the Bear Necessities in New Ad 'Proud Papa'
This charming little McDonald's spot tells the common tale of a proud father celebrating his son's positive report card with some burgers and fries. Of course, the proud papa uses the bear necessities to get his kid a happy meal, as some unsuspecting tourists quickly find out. The commercial is a great example of the influence of the new Disney-esque anthropomorphizing of animals, where the grizzly bears are presented naturally but with human sensibility.

McDonald's and the Monopoly Free Parking Promo
To celebrate the return of the McDonald's Monopoly Game, they surprised local commuters across Western Canada with free parking in select parking lots. Everyday over 1,500 lucky commuters landed in free parking spots, local radio stations alerted commuters where the free parking was located for the day and with the use of clever billboards and signs just like the Monopoly Free Parking from the game board; the parking lots were easy to spot.

McDonald's Honor Angus Third Pounders Billboard
McDonald's erects user submitted billboard messages promoting the Honor Angus Third Pounders. 13 digital billboards in Kansas City began to display headlines written by local McDonald’s customers for the campaign. The headlines, and names of their authors, were cycled in 10-second increments. Over 5,000 customer written 2 word headlines were received online at honorangus.com and via text messages of which 2,000 were displayed on the billboards.
Created and executed by McDonald’s regional advertising agency, Bernstein-Rein (Kansas City), Honor Angus is based on the agency’s local Angus Third Pounder launch campaign that featured punchy, two-word static billboards.

As every restaurants have their closing hours. We feel that this is a great opportunity for McDonald’s to communicate the new 24 hours service. McDonald’s places a night image of its restaurant onto the pull-down shutter of various restaurants. Once the shutter is pulled down after the restaurant’s operating hours, passer by will see an image of a McDonald’s in late hours. This is to deliver the message that while other restaurants are closed, one can enjoy good meal at McDonald’s 24 hours a day.

Pharrell of NERD Really Wants McDonald's
Pharrell Williams dances and sings for McDonald's, apparently on a connecting flight home from Malaysia, he stopped in Paris and at 6am, Pharrell of the band NERD tried everything to get McDonald's to open up early for him even a little song and dance to a McDonals's song. I think this interesting, just my thoughts but it's a little strange that at 6am he feels like singing and dancing, and the song seems too ready made, what about the video camera I'd say this was all staged and judging by the 1 million views already it worked, still fun just the same. Can you viral marketing?
